A.C.T. (Self-Defense) Program:
Women ONLY, high school age and up
Tuesdays: 6:30 to 7:30 pm

A.C.T., "Awareness and Control Tactics" was founded by Tim Spiess and Jason Adams.  Instructor Spiess is a Federal Agent and has been training in martial arts for 24 years.  Instructor Adams is a certified Defensive Tactics Instructor and has been training in martial arts for 20 years.  A.C.T. will prepare you to use self-defense measures to help you in stressful situations that could potentially endanger your life.  A.C.T. is a course of training that combines mental and physical hands on tactics that will provide you with a basic understanding of self-defense.  If you have a self-defense background already it will enhance the skills that you possess.

A.C.T. training is a combination of exercising good judgment along with performing sound practical martial arts skills in the defense of yourself and others.  The training will enable you to make good sound judgment decisions in a moment of elevated stress.  The instructors of A.C.T. will also demonstrate how to effectively apply the self-defense tactics that will neutralize your attacker and render your situation safe.

Classes are designed to the specific needs of the group, organization or agency.  The A.C.T. Program offered at the Goldsboro YMCA is a six week course and has been designed for women only.  However, courses are available for everyone and can be hosted anywhere.  All you need to do is contact an instructor for details.
