The Okinawan Karate-Do Institute was founded by Jason O. Adams Sensei in 2007 and is located in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The Okinawan Karate-Do Institute was established to preserve the art of Karate-Do. It is our goal to teach and assist students in growing into true karateka. A true karateka respects all life and honors the memories of those who have passed on to the next life. One who will always try to help others and never oppress them. A true karateka exercises integrity and honesty at all times. He/she will always seek the peaceful route to solve a disagreement and understands the responsibility of physical power and authority, but does not abuse it. For those who practice Karate as a way of life it becomes more than merely a method of fighting or fitness. There are mental or internal rewards such as self-confidence, discipline, peace and humility. Self-confidence overcomes the desperate need to prove one’s individual worth and ego. Patience and inner peace are found in training and performance of the art. Discipline and humility are a large part and meaningful factor in the practice of Karate. The Okinawan Karate-Do Institute is a branch dojo of the Okinawa Karatedo Shorinryu Ryukyukan Karate Kobudo Federation under Koei Nohara Hanshi in Okinawa, Japan. |
